The 2012 vintage in bordeaux was a tricky year. Cabernet Sauvignon grapes was for some vinyards harvested early and unripened to maximize yield which seems to be the case for this wine. Early harvesting combined with a cold vintage is highly displayed in the taste of the wine.

The wine had aromas of coffee grounds, mocca beans, dark chocolate, tobacco, leather, red plum, spice, forest floor, wet slate, blueberries and some red fruity notes. The wine tastes of grape seed, unripe fruit (massive improvement with one hour in a decanter) raspberries, mushy black plum, forest floor, tobacco, spice, dark chocolate, leather, wet charred wood and black fruits.

The structure is nice when you keep in mind that the wine is a 2012 vintage, but it needs more time before it is opened. The acidity compliments the tannins well giving the wine a decent balance. The concentration of aromas could be higher, but could possibly gain from ageing another five years or so. The finish is medium long.
