The 2015 vintage quality is deemed as excellent, and we certainly agree. A warm April and May with rain following after flowering giving most of Bordeaux excellent conditions. Some critique has followed which is aimed at the vintage being to overly ripe and alcoholic after an intense warm summer.

The first thing that struck us when opening and smelling the wine was wow, the nose is extremely complex and the colour is very deep. Aromas of anise, raspberries, black currants, blackberries, spices, vanilla, wet asphalt and light coffee.

The best way to describe the feeling of tasting the wine is to call it a concentrated powerhouse of taste. The wine is perfectly balanced, tannin structure and acidity that is a perfect match. The wine tastes of black currants, raspberries, vanilla. After 1,5 hours in a decanter the wine shows great development. The red fruits have become more dominant with dark cherries, some cranberries, and dark chocolate. possibly a perfect wine in ten years time.

The finish is very long with a rare finesse and elegance. Can’t wait to follow the development of this wine over the next years.
