The experience can only be described as unbelievable. I can’t recall having ever tasted anything so concentrated, developed, elegant, precise, and nuanced. to sum it up, fantastic. Absolute harmony and balance.

A beautiful red profile, the most juicy red fruit you can imagine, dark secondary aromas which contributes as a second fiddle. Lively, playful acidity, harmonic tannins, concentration with a finish out of this world. Decanted 3 hours before serving.

Red fruits, ripe cherries, wild strawberries, ripe wild raspberries, elderberries, spiced bayleaves, nutmeg, oregano, barrel-spices. A bit meaty with High quality cured meats, Pata Negra in mind. Forest floor, fallen leaves, mushrooms, moist moss, parmesan, and gunpowder. Really well-integrated balsamic and umami-like aging notes. Delicious!

I find it hard to write a closing statement about this wine, no, masterpiece. Before tasting it my biggest question was; “can a wine with this price tag possibly be worth it?”, and as I try to process the experience, I still don’t have a solid answer. What I can conclude is that this is the only wine I have ever tasted that has given me such an out-of-this-world experience, and that is what you’re getting, a ticket to the moon. The start of a new millennium, it will never be forgotten.

I sincerely hope this review gives you some idea of what an experience this wine was.
With gratefulness -RS
