Moët Grand Vintage brut Vertical
We recently tried some older vintages of the classical Moët Grand Vintage Brut! These wines had aged beautifully and were all tremendous in each of their own way. The 2002 and 2006 vintage were suprsingly similar in style and were interpreted as pretty youtfull despite their age! The 2000 vintage was as its peak now with beautiful mature fruit.

Deep straw yellow colour.
The nose is filled with ripe yellow fruit and tons of autolysis. Very deliacte and intrguing smell. The palate follows up with yellow apple, candied citrus, peach and pear. Some honey, caramel, nutty flavors, almond, toast and brioche. Superb autolysis. Fresh acidity, delicate mousse and nice concentration. Long. – J
Moët Grand Vintage Brut 2002
Deep straw yellow colour.
The aromas of this one is dominated by yellow fruit and some autolyis. It also has some very integrated aromas of ox which I adore. The palate shows candied fruit with citrus, some red apple, peach, almonds, and butter.
Some ox, however it is very well integrated.
Smooth autolysis with hints of toast and brioche.
Medium acidity, bold mousse and good concentration. Long. -J
Moët Grand Vintage brut 2000
Deep straw yellow towards golden colour.
The bouqet is again dominated by yellow fruits, a little bit more towards the candied side. Smooth notes of autolysis and honey, just extremely seductive. The palate shows yellow fruit with yellow apple, some candied citrus, peach, apricot and some cantaloup melon. Honey and caramel is noted as well. The autolysis is dark and sensetive with coffe, brioche and cream. Good concentration, medium acidity and a bould, delicate mousse. Long. -J
