Chateau Pavie lies on the plateau to the southeast of St. Emilion village. In 2012 it was classified in the first rank of the Classification of Saint-Émilion wine, as a Premier Grand Cru Classé (A) after having previously been a Premier Grand Cru Classé (B) since 1954.

Gérard Perse brought the chateau in 1998 and has really given the wine a unique style with the help of Michel Rolland. The vineyard covers 37 hectares, terroir consists of mostly clay and limestone soil with the grapes merlot, cabernet sauvignon, and cabernet franc.

We were fortunate enough to get the opportunity to taste the 2012 vintage which was the first vintage as a Premier Grand Cru Classé (A). We were blown away by the concentration and the consistency of the wine. We also tasted Aromes de Pavie 2015 which was a very nice second wine.
