Château Pape Clément is located in the Pessac-Léognan appellation of Bordeaux, France. With a history dating back to the 13th century, the estate was classified as a Grand Cru Classé in the 1959 Graves Classification. The vineyard spans 60 hectares and features a diverse terroir of gravel, clay, and limestone. Grape varieties include Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot for red wines, and Sauvignon Blanc and Sémillon for whites.

Owned by Bordeaux wine magnate Bernard Magrez since 1980, the château has undergone significant modernization and quality improvements, often consulting with famed oenologist Michel Rolland.

During our visit, we tasted the 2016 red vintage and found it to be beautifully structured, showcasing a sublime balance of fruit and tannins. We also sampled the 2015 white, which was elegant and expressive, offering a vivid representation of the estate’s unique terroir. Both wines serve as exemplars of Château Pape Clément’s harmonious blend of tradition and modernity.
